AIPUT serves up new letting to gourmet caterer at Heathrow South Cargo Centre

- Group

The Airport Industrial Property Unit Trust (AIPUT) is pleased to announce its new letting to DO & CO Event and Airline Catering - an industry leader in premium airline and international events catering - at its prime industrial estate, Heathrow South Cargo Centre.

DO & CO, an established customer of AIPUT for over 10 years, has taken a long term commitment of a Grade A warehouse facility of 875 sq m (9,400 sq ft) to add to their existing facilities on the estate and support the growth of their London Heathrow catering division. DO & CO delivers world-class catering solutions for large international airlines at London including British Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, and China Southern Airlines, and major international events including the London Chelsea Flower Show and the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley. This warehouse acquisition allows the gourmet caterer to grow its Heathrow operation to almost 7,430 sq m (80,000 sq ft) of cutting edge food preparation accommodation, and to expand its innovative premium food offer.

Following the recent letting to GE Aviation of almost 20,000 sq ft over the Summer, the terrace of Grade A warehouse units is now fully let. The only remaining available unit at AIPUT's estate of 23,225 sq m (250,000 sq ft) is Unit 1, which provides a new prime 11,150 sq m (120,000 sq ft) distribution facility, and is the largest available logistics warehouse at Heathrow.

Nick Smith, fund manager of AIPUT at SWIP Real Estate, commented:

"We are delighted to extend our relationship and support the growth of DO & CO by providing them with this new high quality warehouse facility. Our dynamic estate allows DO & CO to broaden the delivery of their high-end catering and in-flight solutions to their premium airline partners and international events. The estate's 24/7 unrestricted access and strategic location to the airport with its strong connections and direct access to Central London delivers outstanding transport and business efficiencies for our valued customer.

This letting demonstrates the positive shift in confidence by loyal airport related operators who are committing to long term investments aided by a recovering economic climate. Against this is a backdrop of rapidly declining stock of available quality warehouse schemes at this important hub airport."

AIPUT was represented by Dowley Turner Real Estate, Jones Lang LaSalle and Eversheds.
